Apprenticeship Placement Awarded to Local School Leaver
The local school leaver will be is on a General Engineering course, the title of the apprenticeship framework is Improving Operational Performance Level 2. The course at college is one day per week during, this time he will cover a general engineering technical certificate which includes welding, fabrication, CAD, hand skills, health and safety, milling and turning.
He will also be completing an NVQ in the workplace where he will be assessed on his competency skills this is called Performing Engineering Operations, this part of the framework has approximately 70 units to choose from and he has to complete three mandatory units and three optional units the units will be chosen in conjunction with the job he carries out and be tailored to match his job role.
