DIY SOS
Once again the Downwell Group Team were able to give support to Nick Knowles and his DIY SOS team yesterday in sunny Kent. Previously Inner City Scaffolding had provided scaffolding to the programme.
This time we carried out an asbestos survey of the property through Inner City Environmental where the work was to take place. The asbestos survey revealed that no asbestos was present so removal work was not necessary. Inner City would have carried out the work should it have been detected.
Three of our demolition team along with project coordinator Matthew High were on site yesterday to carry demolition works at the property. It was great to see all the other contractors who also turned up on-site to lend their support to a deserving family.
There was a real togetherness between the workers, and there was plenty of tea, coffee and refreshments supplied by the programme to keep everyone going. Canteen facilities were installed on a nearby green area.
Nick Knowles was very hands-on and involved in the project, which was great to see. The programme will be aired later in the year where the full details about the family will be revealed.
