Downwell in the Community
It has been a busy lead up to Easter this year at the Downwell Group. We like to help out our local community and those where we work, so we have been spreading some Easter cheer.
Thurrock Foodbank
Thurrock Foodbank are one of our nominated local charities and we have been supporting them for a couple of years. Project Director Matthew High and Business Development Manager Alan Knight took time out to deliver some bags of Easter treats to Manager Helen and her team. They work tirelessly there all year round, we are always pleased to help them out.
Lewisham Easter Egg Hunt
Working with our client Ardmore and the Peabody Trust we hosted a treasure hunt for the local children close to our latest demolition and asbestos removal project in Lewisham.
Alan Knight and Dave Goulding doned a Rabbit and Chicken suit to give out Eggs to the children who completed the treasure hunt. The clues were set up by Ardmore and Peabody. The hunt took place in and close to the local community centre.
Local children of all ages and parents attended. A great time was had by all despite Alan and Dave being rather hot in the costumes. It was great to see the younger ones reactions to a large rabbit and chicken.
Lewisham Foodbank
Alan Knight and Devia Barker, Resident Liaison Officer of Ardmore visited the Foodbank in Lewisham with some more Easter goodies. Here they met Garry the manager who explained how they provide valuable support to those in need in Lewisham.
Without organisations like the Thurrock and Lewisham Foodbanks lots of people would go hungry.
The Jermain Defoe Foundation
We are supporting the Foundation this year as our nominated charity for our Surveyors Cup Foundation.
